I attempt to bring a calming, nonjudgmental presence to my work with each person.
A human life is not a problem to be solved but something to be experienced and lived. Coming to accept this mindset is where I believe the work of therapy starts. I want to help build self-compassion and a sense of purpose in my clients' lives.
Get to know you and why therapy seems like it could be a good idea right here and now in your life. We will work to figure out what is most important to you, what you value, and what might be in the way of living in and for those things.
Have gotten to the point where they know something is in the way of going the direction they want to go. You may not know what that direction is or even what the barrier is, but that is where I can hopefully come in and help.
I have seen the benefits of being heard, understood, and helped in my own life and the lives of my loved ones. I have the skills to help in this way.
I am in independent practice because of the freedom I am allowed to be easy and flexible with my clients. I want it to be about you, not my company.
I believe that many ways of doing therapy can and do work. Figuring out what is best for you is important. Recognizing that you are your own best expert and resource is always a goal. And you are the focus of our sessions.
